PWB is an intellectual property law firm with extensive experience in all phases of patent, trademark, copyright, design, and trade secret law. We are located in Huntington, Long Island, a suburb of New York City. Each of our attorneys has a solid educational foundation in his or her respective scientific/technological fields, industry experience, and decades of IP law practice. Serving clients as diverse as start-up companies, global corporations, small businesses, and universities, PWB works closely with in-house counsel, senior management, and technology transfer personnel, as well as project team leaders and inventors.

All of our attorneys are registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and over the course of their careers have obtained hundreds of U.S. patents and trademarks for clients worldwide. The firm also has a network of foreign associates located throughout Europe and dozens of other countries, including China, Japan, Australia, and Canada, with whom we work to procure international patent and trademark protection.

In addition to obtaining patents, trademarks, service marks, and copyrights, PWB attorneys regularly advise and counsel clients in many key areas of IP law, such as recent changes to U.S. patent law embodied in the America Invents Act (AIA) and changes to trade secret law resulting from the Defend Trade Secrets Act. We perform patent and trademark clearance searches, review and manage patent and trademark portfolios, perform due diligence investigations, prepare agreements and licenses, perform patent landscape analyses, and provide patentability, invalidity, non-infringement, and freedom to operate opinions.

We represent clients with respect to ex parte appeals before the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), as well as opposition and cancellation proceedings, foreign proceedings, and domain name disputes. Our attorneys have litigation experience in the federal courts and are trained in the different PTAB post-grant review procedures. We also consult in ongoing patent-, trademark-, and copyright-related litigations.

Additionally, PWB assists clients with the designation and protection of trade secrets and trade dress, as well as advises on misappropriation of trade secrets and trade dress infringement.
